Stacy Rich never saw herself settling for a conventional career path. What started as an early passion for film and visual storytelling evolved into a lifelong mission of helping others grow, both in business and in life. Now, as an intuitive business coach, Stacy is empowering entrepreneurs to step into their worth, build successful businesses, and challenge limiting beliefs that hold them back.
Stacy’s journey began in early high school, where she was apart of the first broadcast journalism class. She then went on to pursue visual communications and film in college. She had dreams of making documentaries, using storytelling as a tool for education and change. But something was missing. “I didn’t feel like I was giving enough to the world. I always saw myself serving in some significant way,” she reflects.
Her passion for personal development had been ignited long before, at just 12 years old, when she started devouring self-improvement books. It wasn’t just a passing interest, it became a lifelong pursuit.
“It started from a spiritual perspective, from books on Buddhism. I felt called to read about it. I had this sense of knowingness about Buddhism,” she says. “The mentality of a Buddhist is to get out of the mindset of suffering. I asked myself, how do I get people to have the best life they can possibly have?”
For 11 years, Stacy served as the Executive Director of the Kansas City National Film Festival while also running her own coaching business that originally started as branding. Though she loved working within the industry, COVID-19 prompted a major career shift.
She had also worked in business consulting, focusing on marketing. It was there that she had a revelation: “I found my love in the business side. I found my love in helping people develop as a business. I’ve done a lot of things, but I’ve always been led to helping people with their own lives and helping people build their business.”
Stacy’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. As a woman in male-dominated industries, she often felt unheard and underestimated. “The last company I was a part of was a trucking company. It was two women in a male-dominated world. We had so many adversities with being treated fairly and being taken seriously.”
She recalls moments of biting her tongue when she knew she had more expertise than her male counterparts. “There are many situations where you feel like you’re not heard or taken seriously because you’re not a man. In the back of your head, you’re saying, ‘I knew so much more than you in that situation, but I chose not to speak up because I didn’t want to cause conflict or step out of line.’”
This experience fueled her passion for helping women step into their power. “I want men and women to build from what I offer. But specifically women because of my own journey with self-worth and knowing that I am actually capable of things.”
Self-worth has been a recurring theme in Stacy’s life. She recalls a pivotal moment in high school when she dreamed of becoming a musician. “I remember thinking that I wanted to be a musician. I saw myself on stage and thought, ‘I’m gonna be the youngest to do this.’ But then I kept telling myself, ‘I’ll do it when I lose weight.’ I didn’t feel like I was worthy of doing it until I looked the part.”
It wasn’t just about music—it was about feeling like she had to meet an external standard to pursue her dreams. “As you develop as an adult, you carry that with you, and it’s debilitating.”
Now, Stacy is dedicated to helping others break free from these limiting beliefs. “If I can educate people on stepping outside of the box and knowing their worth, that would be what I want people to take away from this.”
Stacy is now channeling her passion for transformation into her upcoming podcast, Rich Connections, launching at the end of March. The podcast’s mission? To have the conversations that make people uncomfortable.
“I’m really focused on having the hard conversations,” she says. Rich Connections will dive into topics like intimacy, self-worth, money, and life’s unspoken truths.
Her pitch encapsulates the podcast’s bold approach: “Rebel boldly, live richly, strip away the ego and dive deep. Rich Connections challenges the norm, exploring intimacy, self-worth, money, and life’s unspoken truths. There’s no right or wrong. Just rich, deep perspectives and real connections ready to question everything.”
Through her coaching and podcast, Stacy is helping people reclaim their power, trust their intuition, and build lives that reflect their true worth. Her story is proof that sometimes, the path to fulfillment isn’t linear—it’s about following what calls to you, even when it means pivoting, questioning, and rebelling boldly along the way.
